Students' Manifestations: STRIKES AND TOMAS

The last manifestations in the University of Chile.

The feminist strike has united 14 universities that are now in toma.

If you ask me what is my personal opinion about this issue, the difference between womens and mens, I affirm that I'm in favor. First becouse  I'm a woman, I'm a student and I'm a feminist. I'm feeling very glad that this manifestation has become feminist and at the same time national, historical way on our country and also on a world level.

There have been many legislative problems with respect to gender abuses. There have been strikes and marches every year to end the murders of women. The power of law has always been in favor of men. Constitutions have been created by men, who haven't idea what it means to be sexually abused.

The roles of the students have lost value because of the teachers who still have mansplaining in their classes. This hasn't really helped the female ego and self-confident, that always has many different pressures.

That is why we continued to keep on manifestations, for to have a solution for the part of the university authorities, we want to improve our environment through gender equity.

The revolution is feminist or not.

Santiago from my study program's point of view

I can analyze Santiago of my point of view in a way of turist. Its more easy if I think that Santiago it's not my native city, and think that I come to Santiago for study in Ñuñoa.

Journalism make that I think Santiago it's like a revolution of news, and everytime happened things that the people don't hope. Maybe the city its not safe, but the people should know how take care us self.

Santiago it's very strange city becouse have a lots types of persons like a "flaites"and "cuicos", and you cant find us in differnt places of Santiago, but don't think that everyone its that way, but generally it's like that.

I was thinking about the best way to analyze Santiago through a social and cultural way. There are many places in the capital where you can learn a lot, however, it's  difficult because different social people often mix a lot.

To give an example of this, I will mention the commune of Recoleta, which is where I live. Recoleta is a historic space for our country, where existed the firts chimbas and popular meetings of the colony were created. Here, in 2018, there is a mix of people who don't know the history of our culture, because they are usually foreigners.

In the streets of Recoleta you can see a large number of Haitians, Venezuelans and Peruvians. They know very little about our culture in the colony and our Chilean roots. This means a problem only until someone decides to learn.

Recoleta also, in a very transversal sense, since it has very tourist places like the San Cristobal hill, the metropolitan zoo that is there, the house of Pablo Neruda, and others.

Where you can see people with lots of money is in Bellavista, who are usually young people who will share the Patio Bellavista; In the same way, on the other side of the sector there are people with less money who drink and get drunk in the sectors to drink cheaper beer.
